With many teens texting more than 4000 times a month this issue is not going away. The texting drivers I spoke with, including teens and truckers, all said that laws and Big Brother type software devices that "lock down" and "track" their phones would not deter them at all.

I decided to do something about it after my three year old daughter was nearly run down right in front of me by a texting driver last fall. Instead of a shackle that locks down phones and alienates the user (especially teens), I built a tool that is a simple app called OTTER for smartphones - low cost, no recurring fees. We've received high praise from the tech and teen safety community since April. I think if we can empower the individual then tangible change will come to our highways now and not just our laws.

Erik Wood, owner
OTTER LLC
OTTER appErikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12785281991905436472noreply@blogger.com
